Current mission involvement
Spreading the good news about Jesus is the primary call of all Christians and at VanChurch we are partnering with missionaries overseas and in our local community to help make that happen. We are currently involved in both long term and short term mission initiatives
Long term missions
JOHNATHAN AND DAWNETTE THOMAS
After 14 years as youth minister in apple-growing Wenatchee, Johnathan Thomas and his family followed the Holy Spirit’s call into the harvest orchard as church planters. They and their teammates are engaging in the lives of the people they meet, watching for the places where God breaks into each person’s life story with his mercy. They are practicing being the invited, carrying God’s love into the places people live, work, and play. You can read more about this ministry in their newsletter!

Mexico Missions - club quest
Club Quest is a week long mission trip to El Zorillo, Mexico. During our time in this Baja village we build simple wood-frame houses for families living in poverty and at the end of the week present each family with a Bible and a key to their new home. Each house costs around $7,500 to build and the cost of materials is covered by funds raised throughout the year. The trip takes place each year in mid-July. While there, our workers sleep in tents or rudimentary cabins at a campground in Punta Banda.
See the Club Quest Facebook page for more information; or email cqmissions@gmail.com; or talk to Mark Cash, Steve Fancy, and Barb Shaffer.
