Club Quest
The Club Quest team is building houses for these families in July 2010. Please pray for the team, for the families, and for the lives that will be changed within the walls of these new homes.

Every summer a group of volunteers organized by people from the Vancouver Church of Christ gathers in San Diego to drive into Baja, Mexico to build houses for needy families. Each year we have taken nearly 100 people from all over the US to work together in the small rural town of El Zorrillo where there is no running water available. This necessitates the construction of an outhouse for each family in addition to their living quarters.
The work began when some of our members began working in Mexico with a group from California called Club Dust (in contrast to the upscale resort Club Med). In 1999 Club Rust, a Seattle-based counterpart to Club Dust, emerged as the group enlarged. By 2002, so many of our members were involved that we began preparing to launch out on our own. The following year Club Quest was born.
Beginning in 2004 Club Quest made another change – they began working hand-in-hand with the Church of Christ in the little town of Zorrillo, just south of Ensenada. Now they are not only building homes for families, which alone is a wonderful thing, but they are also building relationships with brothers and sisters in Christ. Each year since then, Club Quest has built four houses and anticipate building five more this year between July 12 and 17, making a total of 32 families who have been provided with a clean, warm, safe house.
Throughout the year, Club Quest promotes several fund-raising efforts to pay for construction materials. If you would like to make a contribution or be part of the team building houses in Mexico this July, contact Bonnie Miller at bonniemiller@vanchurch.org.
