The Women of the Word (WOW) groups are a place to study God’s Word together, pray together, and make friends. These small groups meet weekly throughout the school year. The groups also join together for fun activities from time to time such as a tea party or a Bingo party or a book club. All women are warmly welcome.
Book Clubs for the Ladies at VanChurch: Two Options
Option #1:
“Safe? Who said anything about safe? Course he isn’t safe! But he’s good. He’s the king, I tell you!”
If you know this quote from C.S. Lewis’s The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, then you know what a rich allegory these stories are. And if you don’t, well, you’re invited to find out!
Join us this spring/summer for a book club centered around 3 of the stories of Narnia. We will read the books and discuss the overarching story of God from Creation to Jesus’ Sacrifice to New Creation.
Meeting Times (Fireside Room):
Go ahead and get a copy of the Magician’s Nephew or all three. We’ll set a framework for the book club and have questions and Bible passages to consider as you read available at the first session. Contact the church office for more info.
Option #2
A second option for a ladies’ book club will be meeting the first Tuesday of each month at 10am and is open to any women who cannot make the book club at the building on Thursdays. This second option will meet in a home. Their first meeting will be May 5th. They will be reading through the book, Pursue the Intentional Life by Jean Fleming, which is specifically aimed at how to use our golden years serving the Lord. Each session will cover about 1/4 of the book’s chapters. If you have further questions, please contact the church office.
